Who runs Writer’s Hook

Writer’s Hook is organized and run by LearningHACK, a student-led initiative that empowers teens to explore and develop their interests in technology and the arts.

Why sponsor us?

Many writing programs are expensive and highly selective, turning away most teens who apply. Writer’s Hook ensures the same workshops, mentors, and feedback are accessible to any young writer who attends. This access is especially important in a time when interest in humanities is declining and humanities programs and departments are disappearing from schools. Many students with an aptitude and passion for writing hesitate to consider writing as a serious field of study or potential career. Writer’s Hook helps students discover the joys of creative writing, develop confidence in their abilities, and explore humanities-related academic and career paths. By sponsoring Writer’s Hook, you are investing in the next generation of writers and helping ensure creative voices remain an important part of our society.

Where does my fundraising money go?
100% of fundraising contributions directly support Writer's Hook. Funds cover venue rental, safety measures, dietary accommodations, and event memorabilia for students and judges. For additional questions, please contact us at writershook2026@gmail.com.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes — donations go through our fiscal sponsor, Hack Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and are tax deductible. You'll receive a receipt.
